Clash with Salman Khan's 'Sultan' averted; check out the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’

Mumbai: Had Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan clashed at the Box Office this Eid with their releases ‘Sultan’ and ‘Raees’ respectively, Bollywood would have witnessed the biggest Box Office war ever. But thankfully, that’s not happening because SRK has decided to postpone the release of his film.

It would have certainly been a tough decision as this year’s festive dates were block by other A-listers. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ will have an Independance Day release, while Ajay Devgn’s directorial will hit the screens on Diwali and Aamir Khan will return to the silverscreen in December.

So, to clear all the ambiguity surrounding the release of ‘Raees’, a film that will mark the launch of Pakistani beauty Mahira Khan in Bollywood, the makers of the film – SRK, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhar have decided to push the release date to January next year, reports suggest.

The trio issued a joint statement to put all speculations regarding the release of 'Raees' to rest, reports Bollywoodlife.com.

“It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that this film is highly anticipated. However, a movie of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January 2017,” the trio said in the statement.

We have taken a break’: Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan confirm they have separated

For the past couple of months, speculation that Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan are headed for a divorce had been mounting in B-town. While the couple has denied the reports of trouble in their 18-year marriage so far, on Monday, they issued a joint statement in which they admitted that they had separated. Malaika and Arbaaz said they had finally decided to go public with their separation because of all the confusion it was causing their families.

“We have maintained a dignified silence till now but it is causing us too much confusion and is disturbing for our families. To put all of the speculation to rest, we are giving out this statement,” the duo said in a joint statement, that was published by DNA. “People claiming to be our friends and sources have been speaking on our behalf giving out wrong, malicious information. They have maligned us for long and we have kept quiet and not said a word as it’s a personal matter between us. We have got a child and our families are involved, but just because we have not said anything till now, it doesn’t give anybody the license to speculate on any rubbish about us.”

The couple then went on to explain that they had indeed “taken a break” from their marriage.

“The truth is, we have taken a break, but that doesn’t mean people can presume, assume and speculate things of such malicious nature. We are taking out time to figure out our lives... Yes, it’s true that we are separated, but where our lives go and what transpires between us, it is for us to decide. Wherever it goes from here, we will talk about it when we are ready to,” Malaika and Arbaaz added.

The couple’s statement has only confirmed what numerous reports have been saying all along.

The first visible sign of trouble was when Malaika and Arbaaz — who had signed on to host the reality TV show Power Couple stopped appearing together on the show. After the initial episodes, only Arbaaz anchored the show while Malaika went missing. She only returned to shoot for the finale.

On the face of it, the couple has been trying to maintain a cordial equation despite their split. On March 22, the duo met at a restobar in Bandra, spending time with their 13-year-old son Arhaan, Malaika’s mother Joyce Polycarp, Amrita Arora and her husband Shakeel Ladak, before having dinner together.

Malaika and Arbaaz — as well as their family members — have been inundated with questions about their relationship status ever since the divorce rumours started doing the rounds. When Malaika walked the ramp for designer Mandira Wirk last week at the Amazon India Fashion Week, she was once again asked about the rumours. However, Malaika had insisted that she wanted the focus to stay on fashion and refused to answer any personal questions. In a separate incident, her sister Amrita Arora told the press to cease speculating on Arbaaz and Malaika’s marriage as “they are mature enough to take their own decisions”.

Malaika’s mother Joyce also refused to comment on the issue, and was quoted by PTI as having said, “They are two adults. It is their business. I don't want to get into it. I don't want to talk to press.” As for Arbaaz’s family, it was said that Salman Khan had been tring hard to help the couple sort out their differences. Arbaaz’s father Salim Khan, however, said that he did not want to get involved in the couple’s issues: “I am a writer. Don’t ask me about anyone’s love affair or break-up reports. I never interfere in the life of my kids. I don’t want to talk about it,” he said to PTI.

In their joint statement, Malaika and Arbaaz also referred to reports that she was having an affair, was unhappy with his financial situation, was consulting a divorce lawyer etc, as “completely baseless”.

“We are not separated because of a third random person,” Malaika and Arbaaz said. “Nor was it about his family disapproving of her lifestyle, nor does she feel that her husband is not financially stable. She is not crying on her brother-in-law Salman’s shoulders, asking him to help. They are our family, so please don’t talk about them like that. We deeply respect each other’s families. We want to put to rest all these articles which are complete rubbish. Till then, please respect our privacy and do not drag our respective families and our child into it.”

On just 29 February, Arbaaz had talked about how much he loved Malaika, and how afraid he was of losing her. The couple had made an appearance on the TV show Yaar Mera Superstar, when Arbaaz said he had become possessive about Malaika over the years.

"It happens. When you achieve something or someone, you don't want to lose the person. I love Malaika but I'm possessive about her," Arbaaz said, adding, "It wasn't like this when she was younger or I was more new into the relationship (sic), but it has happened now. She is very precious and dear to me. I love her more than anything else in the world. I'm afraid of losing her now."

Arms Act case: Salman Khan records statement, next hearing on April 4

Salman Khan's statement has been recorded at Jodhpur court today in regard to the 18-year-old Arms Act case and the next hearing will take place on April 4. This case was registered after the weapons, allegedly used by the 50-year-old actor in a poaching case at Kankani village where he had allegedly hunted down two black bucks on October 1 and 2, 1998, had their licences expired.

While a case against him for poaching a blackbuck near Jodhpur's Kankani is still underway, the forest department filed a separate case under the Arms Act. After Salman recorded his statement in the Arms Act case, his lawyer revealed that the superstar claimed in the court that "he was falsely implicated."

On March 3, the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Jodhpur district had set March 10 as the date for recording the statement in regard to the incident that took place while shooting for Sooraj Barjatya's 'Hum Saath Saath Hain.' In a major relief to the actor, the Jodhpur court had last year accepted his plea to produce four witnesses in the case.

The Rajasthan High Court had ordered for the submission of files related to the sanction procedure for prosecution by district collector to the court. Khan had moved a petition in the High Court seeking permission to make the documents pertaining to the prosecution sanction by the then district magistrate available to him.

Farah Khan roped in for Salman - Anushka’s romantic song in ‘Sultan’

Anushka Sharma and Salman Khan may be the next SRK-Kajol grooving in divine locales like that seen in the Dilwale song 'Gerua'. Surprised? For the record, Farah Khan will be choreographing a special romantic number for Salman's upcoming flick 'Sultan', as reported by Bollywoodlife.com. The noted filmmaker has replaced choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant who recently lost her father and so was unable to keep up her commitment. Apart from this slow, romantic number there will also be the title track sung by Punjabi sensation, Badshah, which is said to be the only upbeat, peppy number in the film. Well, looks like 'Sultan' has plenty more than just Salman to watch out for.

Salman Khan has undergone intensive training for his role of a wrestler in Yash Raj Films’ next production, ‘Sultan.’ But it seems as if the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make the film look as authentic as possible. According to a report on Mid-Day, the makers have decided to recreate real-life sports tournaments of the past in the movie. The report also says that these tournaments are also a part of the plot and that they have an influence over the characters. Director Ali Abbas Zafar is also quoted revealing that they have met real-life wrestlers and incorporated their characters in the film.

The fact that Salman is playing a wrestler in the movie gives him all the more reason to go shirtless.

Bollywood star Salman Khan has time and over proved that age is just a number. All of 50, the actor looks hot and fierce in a new still from his upcoming movie, 'Sultan'. This is for the first time that Salman will be seen essaying the role of a wrestler. While we're excited to see Salman and Anushka Sharma sharing screen space for the first time, the recently released still from the movie where Salman is seen flaunting his hot bod, has only upped our expectations from the film. We're keenly looking forward to seeing the two work their magic on the big screen.

Being a Salman Khan movie, ‘Sultan’ has garnered attention ever since it was announced. Later, the anticipation increased after the film finally found a leading lady in Anushka Sharma. And now, the eagerness for ‘Sultan’ has got another boost after the makers, Yash Raj Films, shared a candid picture of Salman and Anushka during the shoot of the film, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. In the official press release, the picture is captioned, “Haryana Ka Sher Aur Haryana Ki Shaan Ka Ghanaa Ishq Hai Takkar Ka!” Now, this has given us some idea about the characters of the lead pair.

In ‘Sultan’, Anushka isn’t merely playing Salman’s love interest. This can be inferred from the fact that the actress has also taken training wrestling lessons for the film. Click on the following slide to take a sneak peek into her wrestling session…

It had taken a long time for the makers of ‘Sultan’ to finalize the leading lady of the film. They were looking for an actress who can pick up the Haryanvi accent and looks sporty on the screen. The names of Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra and many others were in the news before Anushka Sharma was finally chosen to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan. While a few looks of Salman as Sultan Ali Khan had already been out on the social media, the movie maniacs were eager to see how Anushka would look while wrestling out her opponents. Well, here’s a glimpse of the actress caught in action and she indeed is sweating it out to get into the shoes of her character. In the pictures, she can be seen training for the role and we are pretty excited to see Anushka playing this role.

It is not just Anushka’s look in the film which has come out in the open but also, a lot many other details about the film.

alman Khan's Eid release 'Sultan' is going to be a treat to his fans as according to the latest update, Salman will sport two different looks in the movie, one of a clean shaven young boy and the other with a new trendy moustache. However, according to a report on Bolltywoodlife.com, the movie has revealed its plot with revealing so many important scenes and information to the audience. Reportedly, the movie is about a guy named Sultan, who is a wrestler hailing from Haryana and about his battles of life both personal and professional. Salman Khan in the movie will be seen in two different avatars and will have an intense love story, adds the report. Not only that the movie will also have a scene where Salman's character gets slapped by Anushka Sharma's. While Aamir Khan, who also plays a wrestler in his upcoming film, ‘Dangal,’ will be seen essaying the role of a father to three grown-up girls, Salman will charm audiences with just a love story.

Unlike Aamir’s ‘Dangal, in which he is a 'pehelwan', and plays a father, Salman will continue to charm with just a love story with no kids.

While the zest of the movie is out, click to the next slide to read in detail how Salman Khan got slapped by Anushka for the film...

Salman Khan is busy with the shoot of his upcoming film, 'Sultan.' After much ado, the makers of the film have finally zeroed in on Anushka Sharma as the leading lady for the film. However, since the film is about wrestling, it requires the actors to fight it out. And in one of the fight sequences, Anushka had to slap Salman. While we have seen Anushka bash up the baddies in her production venture, 'NH10,' we don't think it will be a cakewalk for the actress to pull-off slapping Salman convincingly.

After months of speculations about the leading lady of Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’, Anushka Sharma was eventually finalised for the coveted role. The 'Bombay Velvet' actress took to Twitter to post a photo from her makeup room, where she was seen getting ready for the ‘Sultan’ shoot. She tweeted, "New beginnings ... New journey .. Heading for the first day of #Sultan shoot. Excited !! Here we go .. !! ". The actress looked pretty in the picture and we can't wait to see her entire look in the film.

However, Anushka's look in the film might not exactly be what we're expecting.

Anushka Sharma may have been chosen for Salman Khan’s Sultan but her character may not be exactly what we were expecting it to be. The actress will be playing a wrestler in the film, mouthing Haryanvi dialogue. She will be seen in a de-glam avatar sweating it out in the ring and will be training for three weeks before starting the shoot, reported BollywoodLife. Talking about her role in detail, director Ali Abbas Zafar revealed why she was the right choice. He said that as she is athletic, understands the language and the mannerisms, it will be easier for her to get into the skin of the character. He also added that Anushka, who has already romanced Aamir and SRK, will look good with Salman too.
